Fields: The Multifunctional Outdoor Sunlounger by Robin Delaere

The inspiration behind Fields was to cater to the needs of 'city people' who often have limited indoor and outdoor spaces. Robin Delaere designed this piece of furniture to provide a suitable answer to the outdoor needs of such individuals. The design is simple yet functional, allowing users to enjoy the outdoor life in a very comfortable way, both during the day and at night.

Fields stands out due to its unique properties. It can be used as a regular sunlounger and can easily be transformed into a sofa by simply flipping up the backrests and installing the backrest cushions. There are no screws or complicated fixations involved in the process. This ease of transformation makes Fields a great choice for people with small outdoor spaces.

Despite its simple appearance, the design and development of Fields took about six months. The challenge was to get all the dimensions and ergonomics correct, especially considering the double function of the product. The result, however, is a piece of furniture that is not just aesthetically pleasing but also remarkably functional.

Fields is made using an aluminium frame and teak woodwork. The dimensions of the product are 199x74x41 cm. The design was awarded Silver in the A' Furniture Design Award in 2020, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
